Luke Perry was a renowned Hollywood actor, widely known for his roles in Beverly Hills 90210, The Fifth Element, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and more recently, his role in Netflix TV Series, Riverdale. Luke Perry suffered a very serious stroke and was hospitalized. After five days on life support, his family made the difficult decision to remove the life assistance. CONSENT TO HEALTH CARE Every day in British Columbia clinics. ambulances and hospitals families and health care professionals face issues of consent to health care on behalf of persons temporarily or chronically incapable of giving informed consent. This issue is not confined to patients who are seniors, but it is increasingly likely the longer one lives that brain injuries, strokes or dementia will occur. Some advance planning and documentation while one is still fully competent can make a big difference for all concerned. Fall Prevention Month

It is the last day of September - the final day of Fall Prevention Month in Canada. Yes, that is a thing. see  http://fallpreventionmonth.ca  Upon first hearing of this designation, I thought it was just the annual Canadian effort to deny the end of summer has arrived,,, which has been particularly hard to do this September when our golf courses were covered with snow. Seriously, falls are major problem in workplaces and public spaces, but also particularly in the everyday liv es of older adults. Ann and I should have posted about this earlier in the month, since we are now both Certified Professional Consultants on Aging (CPCA) We intend to further develop our knowledge and skills and begin actually offering consulting services.
